Training Programs
There are 3 levels of development programs available for Rostrum members. Each member is required to finish each program before commencing the next as they are designed to be more varied and challenging as you become more confident in overcoming each task.
Personal Development Program ‘PDP’
The PDP is the first step in the Rostrum training procedure for new members as the syllabus is designed to lead new members through a series of sequential exercises. By setting out the first program in this manner it allows members to slowly build their confidence and communication skills in an instructional manner through repetition.
Intermediate Development Program ‘IDP’
The IDP takes the techniques developed in the PDP one step further and integrates them with presentations on a variety of subjects. Each task is designed to build on the basic principles already learnt and begins to further develop your confidence with tasks and skills which are beneficial to both professional and personal communication.
Advanced Development Program ‘ADP’
Where the PDP and IDP are club based the ADP includes exercises that need to be completed in the ‘real world’ forcing members to test their new found skills out of the normal club environment. The completion of the tasks in the ADP also gives members the opportunity for self assessment, encouraging them to go right back to the foundation of the principles learnt at the beginning of the Rostrum journey.
